Victron VE Transfer switch 5KVA/230V – automatic transfer switch between two AC sources

The Victron VE Transfer Switch 5 kVA is an automatic transfer switch with two AC inputs and one output. The loads are supplied from input 1 (e.g. shore power or a generator), and if this supply fails or goes outside the voltage or frequency limits, the switch automatically changes over to input 2 – typically an inverter. During the switchover itself, the power is briefly interrupted, so sensitive electronics such as computers may lose data.

Benefits

  • Automatic switching: Switches between the two sources without manual operation.
  • Delayed switch-back: Once input 1 has been stable for approx. 10 seconds (adjustable), it switches back – this protects your equipment during short voltage dips.
  • 20 A per input: Rated current of 20 A on both inputs and the output, and motor loads (e.g. air conditioning) of up to 1.3 kW.
  • Auxiliary contact: Together with a MultiPlus and a Digital Multi Control, it can automatically switch the current limit to a preset generator value.
