Questions about solar power systems and installation
Am I allowed to install a solar power system myself?
Yes. You may install the panels, rails, DC cables, inverter and battery yourself. The connection to your electrical panel and the notification to the grid operator must be carried out by an authorised electrician – this is a legal requirement. We provide the datasheets and the technical documentation the electrician needs.
How accurate is the calculation?
We assume approx. 950 kWh per kWp per year on a south-facing roof in Denmark, an electricity price of DKK 2.50/kWh and DKK 0.60/kWh for the electricity you sell. We calculate the heat pump's electricity consumption from its nominal heat output (kW × full-load hours ÷ SCOP), and the electric cars' consumption from the figure you enter. Self-sufficiency depends on the battery and your consumption pattern. The figures are a realistic estimate – not a guarantee.
Why do you recommend a 3-phase inverter?
Almost all Danish homes are connected with 3 phases, and grid operators allow a maximum of 3.68 kW unbalanced load on a single phase. A 3-phase hybrid inverter can therefore be larger, charge an electric car and run a heat pump – and provide backup power on all three phases.
What about mounting equipment for the roof?
The mounting equipment depends on your roof type, where the panels will be placed and how many rows they are arranged in. That is why we do not give a standard price in the guide. Select your roof type, number of panels and placement in the guide, and we will send you a quote for mounting equipment including 100 metres of solar cable. If you choose full installation, it is included in the overall quote.
Can I expand the system later?
Yes. The batteries can be connected in parallel, so you can start with one and add more later (up to 32 Deye batteries). A Deye 3-phase hybrid inverter can take up to 1.6 times its rated power in panels – e.g. 19.2 kWp on a 12 kW inverter – and the extra solar power goes to the battery. If you plan to expand, consider choosing an inverter with a little headroom.
What does a solar power system with installation cost?
The price depends on the size of the system, your consumption and whether you choose a battery. We always make an individual calculation based on your home and finances.
How long does it take before the system is up and running?
Typically 4–6 weeks from order, depending on case processing and delivery. We take care of the practical details and keep you updated along the way.
Should I choose a solar power system with or without a battery?
A battery stores the electricity so you can use it later – e.g. in the evening. It increases your self-sufficiency and reduces the need to buy electricity.
What size system should I choose?
It depends on your consumption, your roof area and your budget. The guide gives you a good starting point, and we are happy to help with precise sizing.
Do you offer financing or payment in instalments?
Yes. We offer flexible financing solutions with and without a down payment, so you can get started without paying the full amount at once.
