Used batteries and the environment

Batteries contain materials that can be recycled – and substances that must not end up in nature. That's why used batteries must never be thrown away with household waste. The crossed-out wheelie bin symbol on the battery means exactly that.

We take back your used battery

If you bought a battery from LithiumPro, we will take it back when it has reached the end of its life. Contact us first at info@lithiumpro.dk or +45 60 46 84 10, and we will agree on how the battery is to be handed in or sent.

Registered with Dansk Producentansvar

LithiumPro is registered with Dansk Producentansvar (the Danish producer responsibility scheme). As a producer, we take responsibility for ensuring that the batteries we sell are collected and recycled correctly when they are used up.

Other ways to dispose of batteries

  • Small batteries can be handed in at battery collection points or at the recycling centre.
  • Larger lithium batteries – e.g. for motorhomes, boats, golf carts or solar power systems – can also be handed in at the recycling centre. Ask your recycling centre if you are unsure.

Before you hand in the battery

  • Put tape or terminal covers on the terminals so the battery cannot short-circuit.
  • Store the battery in a dry place, out of reach of children and pets, until it has been handed in.
  • If the battery is damaged, dented or hot, handle it with care and contact us or the recycling centre.

Shipping

Lithium batteries are classed as dangerous goods when shipped. Never send a used battery to us without arranging it first – we will then tell you how it must be packed.
