Description
Raco SC50-8 Cable Lug
The SC50-8 cable lug is a non-insulated ring terminal made of tinned copper. Designed for professional use, it connects cables with a cross-section of approx. 50 mm² to studs with an M8 bolt hole. Suitable for high-power electrical connections, battery terminals, earthing connections, and other high-current applications.
Advantages
High conductivity: Tin-plated copper ensures low resistance and minimal loss at high currents
Corrosion resistance: Tinned surface protects against oxidation, which is important in humid or aggressive environments
Robust and durable: Ring-shaped coupling provides a strong and secure mechanical connection
Versatile application: Can be used in both AC and DC applications
Specifications

Value |
Cable cross-section |
Approx. 50 mm² |
Bolt hole (stud) |
M8 |
Inner diameter of the bolt hole |
8 mm |
Material |
Copper (Cu), tinned/nickel-plated surface for better corrosion resistance |
Surface finish |
Electrolytic tinning (Sn) – reduces oxidation and ensures good electrical contact |
Temperature limit |
Up to approx. +120°C during operation (depends on cable type and load) |
Electrical classification |
IEC-60228 or equivalent conductor class standards |
Mounting method |
Pressing/crimping is recommended. Soldering can be used, but crimping provides a more uniform and durable connection |
Areas of application
Electrical cabinets and control panels
Battery systems and charging infrastructure
Solar installations
Marine and automation systems
Earthing and power installations
Recommendations
Use the correct crimping tool and ensure the crimp covers the entire conductor end
For high currents: ensure that the cable dimension and number of conductors match the load to avoid overloading
Check the bolt and nut for proper fit – too much clearance can result in poor contacts
For installations exposed to moisture or aggressive environments, additional protection such as sealing or coating is recommended
